Terdapat dua jenis LED di atas, yang putih adalah pemancar LED inframerah 850nm dan yang hitam adalah penerima IR jenis pandangan atas LED 850nm yang juga boleh dinamakan sebagai diod foto 850nm. Di litar, pemancar LED 850nm memancarkan isyarat dan kemudian penerima IR akan menerimanya. Biasanya, penerima IR akan dikemas sebagai lensa hitam untuk menyaring sedikit cahaya tambahan kami, yang dapat memastikan ia hanya mendapat isyarat yang kami perlukan. Untuk penerima IR, terdapat juga bentuk lain untuk dipilih, seperti putaran atas 3mm, bahagian atas bulat 5mm, jenis LED 3528 SMD dll.
